About WestCoast and Denturists

What's the difference between a denturist and a dentist?

Short answer: a denturist is trained to do the prosthetic side from end to end, design it, build it, fit it. A general dental practice covers a wider range of issues and usually sends prosthetic cases out to an outside lab.
Here's why that matters to you: when the same hands that design your denture are also fitting it in your mouth, the loop is tighter. We catch what's off the moment you sit down, not three weeks later in a back-and-forth with a lab. Your case stays in our hands from start to finish.

No. We're a family-owned practice. Chris and Melanie Chapman own it. Their son Austin is a Licensed Denturist on the team. Their other son Christian is our Lab Technician. Same family, same denturists, every visit.

Hood River (Mon–Wed), The Dalles (Thurs & Fri), and Hermiston Tuesdays/Wednesdays by appointment.

About Dental Implant Options

What are "permanent teeth on implants"?

A full set of teeth attached to dental implants. The teeth don't come out. You clean them like natural teeth. People also call this fixed full-arch or All-on-4. Starting at $345/month per arch with interest, or $500/month interest-free (prosthetic only; implant placement quoted separately by the partnering dentist).

A removable denture that locks onto 2 or 4 dental implants in your jaw. Strong fit. Doesn't slip when you eat or talk. You take it out at night for cleaning. Starting at $140/month with interest,or $220/month interest-free, for the 2-implant lower configuration; $235/$315 for the 4-implant lower.

Short answer: depends on your goals, your budget, your bone, and whether you want something that stays in or comes out at night. Here's why we don't try to answer it on a webpage: the right call comes out of a conversation. Austin spends a lot of time getting to know patients before recommending anything. We'll walk through both options at the free consultation and let you decide.

Short answer: probably not. Here's why, most "you're not a candidate" calls come from offices that aren't set up for complex cases. Patients come to us after being turned away elsewhere. Some were told they didn't have enough bone. Others were told the case was too complex. Come in for a free consultation, bring any imaging you have, and we'll look at it together.

Implant placement is coordinated with a trusted implant provider. WestCoast handles every other step: consultation, design, working teeth, fitting, final teeth, and ongoing care.

About the Process

How long does new-teeth-on-implants take?

You walk out with a working set of teeth the same day your implants go in. Your final teeth are delivered once your dental implants have integrated with your jaw, that part takes a few months. You have teeth the entire time.

Yes. Working teeth go in on placement day and stay in through out healing. You're not toothless for any part of the process.

It varies. A typical new-teeth-on-implants case runs through the free consultation, one or two design appointments, placement day, a healing check-up or two, and final delivery. We schedule at the pace that fits your case.

We do try-ins before we commit to the final. If you love the working set, we order the final as-is. If you want changes, we adjust the working set, let you wear it, and fine-tune it before we order the final. We don't deliver until you're happy.

About Daily Life With Dentures or Implants

Can I eat normally with new teeth on implants?

Yes. The final teeth handle normal eating. There's a learning curve at first, though you're notworking around a removable denture anymore.

There's a short adjustment period, usually a few days. Your mouth and tongue work out thenew shape pretty fast. Within a couple of weeks, talking feels normal again.

Brush them like teeth. Cleaning around the dental implants takes a small adjustment, and we walk you through it at delivery. No glue, no soaking, no overnight cup.

Dental implants are built to last long-term, often for life. The teeth on top (the bridge or denture) wear over time and may need replacement down the road. The dental implants themselves are the foundation.

The attachments hold it firmly. It feels locked in when it's seated. It only comes out when youtake it out for cleaning.

About Warranty & Aftercare

What does the warranty cover?

New teeth on implants: 1-year warranty on the teeth, Snap-on dentures on implants: 6 months of free adjustments and free repairs. Standard dentures: 6 months of free adjustments and free repairs.

Yes. Most repairs are turned around same-day in our in-house lab.

Usually it's time for a reline. Your gums and jaw change shape over the years, and a reline reshapes the denture so it sits properly again.
